Because we believe that your family and
friends play an important role in your
recovery, contributing to your overall
well-being, they are welcome to visit with
you during your stay. This Visitor’s
Guide provides information that will be
helpful to them, and guidelines we ask
them to observe to ensure your comfort,
as well as that of your fellow patients. We
ask you to encourage them to follow
these guidelines and invite them to let us
know how we can be of assistance to
them during their visits. |
Noon - 8 p.m.
You may have up to two
visitors at a time. |
While a patient in the Intensive
Care/Cardiac Care Unit, you are under
special monitoring and close observation.
For your benefit immediate family
members may visit from:
15 minutes per visit
Noon to 12:30 p.m.
5 to 5:30 p.m.
7 to 7:30 p.m.
Two per patient
*Special consideration may be given to extend
visitation or allow children to visit in extreme
circumstances. This adjustment of visitation will be
made at the ICCU nurse’s discretion.
*Clergy may visit at any time |
Fathers (or other support persons) are
never considered as visitors and may
remain in the room with mother and
baby for the duration of your stay.
Grandparents, big brothers and sisters,
aunts and uncles and special guests
are welcome to visit between the hours
of noon and 8 p.m. Since you will
need some rest, you may wish to ask
friends and neighbors to visit when
you get home. |
Personnel at the switchboard will
direct your calls to the appropriate
nursing unit so your family may speak
with your nurse, unless you ask that
this information be withheld. Any
additional information about your
diagnosis and treatment must come
from your physician. |
Visitors should check with the nurse on
duty before bringing food or drinks to
patients. Certain gifts, such as flowers,
food and live plants, are not allowed in
the IC/CCU. |
